Renew a book?
Physically: Take it to the circulation desk and ask to renew it.
Online: Go to the library catalog and click on "My Account" then "Renew My Materials" and use the second box that says "Alternate ID" and put in your ID number, and then your PIN number. If you don not have a PIN number, please go to the circulation desk to get one or call 675-3876. Then follow the instructions.

Reserve a group study room?
Click on "Group Study Room Reservations" under "Services" on the library home page. Login using your CES NetID, click on the room and time you want, and make your reservation. You can only reserve for one hour at a time and can be made for today and tomorrow only. For special circumstances, please call Becky Rathgeber at 675-3946.

Access resources from off-campus?
Login using your CES NetID. If you are having trouble getting into anything, please call Becky Rathgeber at 675-3946 or email rathgebb@byuh.edu to report the problem or to get more information.
Check out a book?
Take the book to the circulation desk. You will need your BYU-Hawaii ID card. You can check out up to 25 books for three weeks. Click here for more information about our circulation policies.
Check out a video or AV equipment?
DVD's and videos may be checked out for use in the Library. All other equipment can only be checked out with written permission of the instructor. Click here for the Media Resources and Scheduling website.
Find out if my professor has an article or book on reserve?
Go to the circulation Desk and ask for reserves either by the instructor name or the course number. You can also check the online reserves by going to Electronic Course Reserves and click on the first link and follow the instructions.
Find out if the library has a particular journal or article?
Go to the "Journals" tab, or to the following link, and type in the title of journal to see if we have access to that particular title......
Find out where to go to get a print card and how to use it?
In the Lobby opposite the Circulation Desk is the JAMEX copy card dispenser. Put in a $1and get a card with 50 cents worth of printing on it. You can add more money on the same card.
Request a book or article, Interlibrary Loan something?
Click on "Interlibrary Loan" under "Services" or at the bottom of the 'Books' or 'Articles and Journlals' tabs. If you haven't created an account, please click on the "First Time Users Click Here" button and register for an account using your BYU-H email address. Fill out the appropriate form with all the information you know about the item you want. Articles that can be scanned take an average of 1 day to be emailed to you. Books that can be sent from Provo will take about a week. Anything else can take up to a month or more, so plan ahead.

Use a computer in the library?
Accessing computers in the library requires your CES NetID. The 4 computers near the front entrance can be used without logging in and are only for email. The 10 computers near the reference section are only available for searching the library resources and you need to login with NetID. The rest of the computers in the library, both PC and Mac, require a NetID to login.
Locate an area or department in the library?
Click on the library map or library directory.
Find a book in our library?
Go to the "Books" tab in the center of the homepage to search for books in our Library. The "Library Map" link will show you physical location of the "location" mentioned with the call number in the record of the book.
Cite and manage my sources?
Try "Refworks" (click here for a video tutorial) or our "Research Help" link on the left side menu. There are many citation builder programs to choose from.You can also try the Reading and Writing Center on campus for more help.
Start my research?
On our "Research Help" page, look for Research 101 at the bottom of the list. Or come to one of the librarians you find in the directory.
Find the full text of a specific article?
The "Articles and Journals" tab on our search box lets you search to see if we have the full text of the article.
1. Type in the TITLE of the JOURNAL into the "Find Full Text Online Journals" box. Check to see if you. You can also see if we have a subscription to the paper copy. Remember to check the dates of availability. Remember if your article is not available electronically or on paper you can always request it through Interlibrary Loan.
Evaluate websites?
On our left side menu, click on "Research Help” to check out how to evaluate websites, or click on the Websites tab in the center section and click on a few of the links given there.

Find my textbook in the library?
The library does not stock current text books. You may want to talk to your professor about putting one on reserve for the class.
Find out the libraries hours?
On the left side menu, under "About the Library” on our homepage, click on library hours.
Make suggestions or requests?
Send a suggestion to us any way you want under "Contact Us". You can recommend a book by clicking on the "Recommend a Book" link under "Library Services". We'll do our best to get what you need. You can also call Marynelle Chew with any suggestions at 675-3863.
Find a DVD or video in the library?
Go to the "Media" tab on the center of the page and use the Audio/Visual search box. Or go to the library catalog, then click on advanced search and limit the "format" to "Videos, DVDs, etc".
Find music in the library?
Go to the "Media" tab on the center of the page and browse the Audio Section. Or go to the library catalog, then click on "advanced search" and limit the "format" to "Sound Recordings and Musical Scores". Most music CDs will be located at circultation.
Set up an Ebrary or NetLibrary account?
Ebrary: Click on the Bookshelf tab > Then click "Do you need to create a new bookshelf?" and fill in all the infomation.
NetLibrary: On the top right hand corner, click on "Create a Free Account" and fill in all the information. .
Who can check out a book?
BYU-Hawaii students, faculty, staff, their dependents and community memebers with a current BYU-Hawaii ID (visit Aloha Center for ID)
